Tri-Norse Ski Club & Winter Park

Tri-Norse Ski Club and Winter Park

In 1928, Ole Arneson with two other men from Norway, Gunner Rebne and Ingmar Ingmarson, had a dream to build a jump at Dyracuse Mound and form a club to promote, create, develop, and sustain interest in the sport of ski jumping. The first tournament was held in 1932, after which the club became affiliated with the Central US Ski Association. Over the years, jumps of 5, 10, and 22 meters have been built to the West of the 55-meter slide and are used in developing ski jumpers as they work their way to the bigger slide. Several events are scheduled every year. They have the perfect hills for anyone interested in learning how to ski jump. They will coach and have equipment easily available.

During summer the park hosts their annual Mini Mudder Run. The Mini Mudder is a one-mile mudder run, along with a petting zoo, a water cannon provided by the Rome Fire Department, and concessions.
In the fall visitors can either walk up the hill or enjoy a UTV ride from the base of the hill to the top of the 55-meter jump. You can see the colors from 4 area counties! There will be a craft fair, music, soup, and chili for purchase.
While in winter the park will host ski jumping events, ski jumping lessons, snowshoe hikes, and cross-country skiing.
